§ Mr. Dykesasked the Secretary of State for Energy what action he proposes to take to delay the proposed 10 per cent. rise in the price of average domestic gas tariffs, in view of the substantial surplus shown in the accounts of the British Gas Corporation.
§ Mr. BennI understand that the British Gas Corporation has now made application to increase domestic tariffs from 1 April by about 8 per cent. Otherwise I have nothing to add to the reply I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Derby, South (Mr. Johnson) on 20 February.
