§ Mr. Denis HowellGrant aid is not given direct to governing bodies of sport 653W by my Department; but most receive grants from the Sports Council for the purposes of assisting with their administration expenses, their coaching and preparation training programmes, and the costs of teams participating in international events. Details are published each year in the Sports Council's report and accounts.
