§ Mr. Staintonasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether, given that the terms of the Homes Insulation Act 1978 restricts energy conservation assistance to dwellings, he will make a statement of his policy on energy saving in such related areas as village and church halls.

There are at present no proposals for any further schemes of financial assistance for thermal insulation of buildings. The coverage of the existing schemes is kept under review.
