Member for Edinburgh, Central on 31 March 1976—[Vol. 908, c. 494–95.]—concerning the number of employees and directors in receipt of income in kind in the form of a motor car wholly or partially provided by a company, and the total annual value of this taxable income for the most recent convenient date.
§ Mr. Robert SheldonFor the year 1978–79, it is provisionally estimated that about 205,000 employees and 240,000 directors had a total of about £115 million included as taxable income in their PAYE codings in respect of the benefits arising from their private use of cars supplied by their employers.
