asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many members of the British Occupational Hygiene Society's committee on hygiene standards: sub-committee on cadmium, which has just proposed new hygiene standards, are employed by or in receipt of research grants or other help or are otherwise connected with cadmium-using industries.

Of the 10 members of the British Occupational Hygiene Society's committee on hygiene standards: sub-committee on cadmium, which prepared its hygiene standard for approximation of member States' laws on liability for defective products and the harmonisation of standards for taximeters. Details of the status of these proposals within the EEC legislative machinery are printed quarterly in the Government publication "Trade and Industry". All proposals for legislation by the Council are deposited in Parliament and considered by the House of Commons Select Committee on European Legislation.
