§ Mr. HayhoeThe estimated costs for 1979–80 of the British bases in Gibraltar, Cyprus and Hong Kong are £37 million, £48 million and £16 million respectively. 21W The last figure assumes a contribution from the Hong Kong Government amounting to 75 per cent. of the total costs as provided for under the Hong Kong defence costs agreement. It excludes the cost of the force deployment to Hong Kong, which my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Defence announced in a written answer on 20 June.
