asked the Lord Privy Seal if Her Majesty's Government's policy towards the supply of arms to South Africa will be varied in any respect from that pursued by the previous Government; and if he will make a statement.

No. We shall continue to fulfil the obligations of the United Kingdom as regards the arms embargo against South Africa under Security Council resolution 418 in accordance with our existing legislation.
