asked the Secretary of State for Industry whether he will make a statement on the announcement by British Leyland of the decision to close its subsidiary, Aveling Marshall of Gainsborough.

I understand that the board of BL has yet to consider a recommendation by the management of its Aveling Barford subsidiary that the Aveling Marshall factory at Gainsborough should be closed.
