§ Mr. YoungerI have decided to dispense immediately with the need for local authorities to submit their proposals to my Department for subsidy approval, and my Department will be in touch with them about the details. I have also instructed my officials to prepare, in consultation with local authority representatives, an incentive to economy in the housing support grant system, for introduction as soon as possible, with the object of ensuring that local authorities reap the benefit of economy in building costs but bear the consequences of excessive costs.
