§ Mr. Meacherasked the Secretary of State for Industry what has been the estimated effect of the shipbuilding intervention fund for each year since it was introduced, in terms of jobs, balance of payments, output, and in other measurable economic respects, differentiating where possible between the development areas and the rest of the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. Michael MarshallOrders for 64 ships have been secured with assistance from the fund, details are as follows:
in gross and net terms respectively, for each year since 1960; what was the ratio in each of these years to the gross national product at current prices; and what is the comparable data for France, West Germany, the United States of America, Japan and Sweden.
