Mr. Stephen Ross

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when when he anticipates being in a position to implement the main recommendations contained in the Royal Commission's report on standards of conduct in public life.

Mr. Whitelaw

The main recommendations not yet implemented would require legislation and I cannot at present see any prospect of this during the current Session.
