§ Mr. Altonasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will take action to deal with the continued pollution and nuisance caused by factories in the Wavertree Road area of Liverpool.
§ Mr. FoxThe control of emissions from the works in question is the responsibility of Liverpool metropolitan district council. I am informed that there was a recent pollution incident following failure of grit and dust arrestment equipment at a car breaking yard, but that the council is satisfied with the remedial action that has now been taken.
