HC Deb 27 July 1979 vol 971 c642W
Mr. John Browne

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he has yet received the inspector's report on the M3—Winchester section.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

I am glad to say that my right hon. Friends the Minister of Transport and the Secretary of State for the Environment have now received the inspector's report of the public inquiry into proposals for the Popham to Compton section of the M3. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Major General Edge for the way in which he has completed this mammoth task in spite of his recent serious illness.
