HC Deb 26 July 1979 vol 971 c469W
Mr. Eldon Griffiths

asked the Minister of Transport if, in light of the Government's policy of selling off land held by Government Departments that no longer is needed by them, he is satisfied with the length of time it is taking to dispose of land he acquired in the late 1960s for the Bury St. Edmunds bypass, but which still is in his possession and is lying idle.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

I hope that it can soon be disposed of. Apart from Whitmore's timber yard, which is the subject of my hon. Friend's further question, there is only one small plot still to be sold.
