106. Mr. John Grant

asked the Secretary of State for Industry how much the Government have spent under the micro- processor applications programme to develop training courses; and how many courses and training places have thereby been created.

The following tables set out the expenditure on types and numbers of microelectronic training courses approved under the microprocessor applications project up to 31 May 1979.

As regards the numbers of training places thereby created we estimate these to be 2,363 in 1978–79, 16,129 in 1979–80, and 20,868 in 1980–81.
