The following table gives the numbers of people registered as unemployed in the Gateshead and Felling employment office areas and unemployment rates for the South Tyneside travel-to-work area, which includes both of these places.

They are calculated by expressing the numbers registered as unemployed as percentages of the total of employees, employed and unemployed.
