§ Mr. Peter Bottomleyasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will list the names of voluntary organisations to which grants or loans are made by his Department together with the amounts for the latest period if such information is available.
§ Mr. RaisonGrants (other than grants-in-aid) made through the voluntary services unit in 1978–79 (to a total of some £2.64 million) were listed in the reply given to a question by the hon. Member for York (Mr. Lyon) on 2 July. In addition the following grants were made in that year:
1978–79 £ National Council of Social Service (grant-in-aid) 392,000 Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (grant-in-aid) 5,000 United Kingdom Immigrants Advisory Service 393,000 Women's Royal Voluntary Service (grant-in-aid) 2,639,000 The probation and after-care department of the Home Office administers a system of grant aid and grant-in-aid to voluntary organisations which, for 1978–79, totalled some £2.59 million. £1.16 million was allocated to the deficit funding of some 230 hostels administered by more than 200 voluntary bodies.
