§ Mr. McCuskerasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland when he hopes to make public the conclusions of the review of the law in Northern Ireland with regard to (a) betting, games and lotteries and (b) licensing.
§ Mr. RossiConsideration of the law in Northern Ireland on betting, gaming and lotteries covers a very wide field. The report of the Royal Commission on gambling made extensive recommendations which may have implications for any proposals for amending the law in Northern Ireland. I aim to complete my consideration and publish proposals as soon as possible.
A review of the liquor licensing law in Northern Ireland has been carried out by an inter-departmental review body. I am currently studying its report and will be considering the question of publication.
