§ Mr. Fosterasked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many advance cost nursery factories have been (a) approved, and (b) constructed in the Northern region since 1974 (i) under the local authorities, and (ii) under the new town development corporations.
§ Mr. FoxInformation in respect of local authorities is not readily available. They do not require our approval to construct advance factories under the locally determined sector allocation, nor are they required to make returns. Development corporations in the North-East have completed 223 advance factories of all kinds and a further 120 are under construction.
