§ Mr. Gryllsasked the Secretary of State for Employment when he intends to lay regulations on the notification of accident and dangerous occurrences; when he expects such regulations to come into operation; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Mayhew, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 2 July 1979], gave the following answer:
I am informed by the chairman of the Health and Safety Commission that the consultative period for the latest consultative document containing draft regulations for the notification of accidents, dangerous occurrences and ill health ended in June 1979, and that the comments which were received are now being collated and evaluated.
It is hoped that the commission will shortly be in a position to advise me on an appropriate date on which the regulations should be laid, with a view to bringing them into operation as soon as practicable.
