§ Mr. Ginsburgasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department in the light of his reply to written question No. 9 of 27 June from the hon. Member for Dewsbury, when he expects to receive reports from the Local Government Boundary Commission in respect of those metropolitan districts that have not yet been reported; and whether he expects to be able to table orders in time for the 1980 elections.
§ Mr. BrittanI understand that the Local Government Boundary Commission for England hopes to submit reports proposing new electoral arrangements for the remaining metropolitan districts by the end of this year. I am not yet able to say whether orders implementing these arrangements will all be made in time for the 1980 elections.
