§ Mr. Cryerasked the Secretary of State for Transport what is the anticipated date for the public inquiry into the proposed Airedale trunk road; and if he will agree to enabling the proposals to be considered in sections and, in particular, give prority to the hearing for the Keighley Steeton and Eastburn section.
§ Mr. HoramI hope that an inquiry can be held towards the end of this year. It would not be practicable for the proposals to be considered in sections, but subject to satisfactory completion of the statutory procedures, we shall examine the possibility of building the Keighley to Kildwick section first, so that Keighley Steeton and Eastburn are relieved of traffic.
