§ Mr. Gouldasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what provisions of United Kingdom law give effect to articles 3, 17, 24, 28, 31, 32 and 33 of the United Nations Convention on Refugees.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesAt the time of ratification of the convention in 1954, it was considered that statutory provisions were not necessary to enable the United Kingdom to meet its obligations under it. I have under consideration a number of suggestions in this connection made to me by the London representative of4W the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
