§ Mrs Haymanasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is his estimate of the number of staff required by a Government agency to be responsible for the collection of all maintenance payments to lone parents.
§ Mr. Deakins, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 15 December 1978, Vol. 960, c. 469], gave the following information:
The number of staff required by a Government agency made responsible for the collection of maintenance for lone parents would depend on the terms of reference for the appointed agency and its organisational structure. In the absence of information on these essentials it is not possible to assess staffing needs.
