§ Dr. Summerskill:Yes. The fire service received its November 1978 increase in accordance with the formula agreed at the end of the firemen's strike a year ago; and agreement has been reached on the introduction of the 42-hour week on 1st April 1979, or earlier in those brigades which can introduce it earlier. Implementation of these arrangements is the responsibility of individual fire authorities.
