§ Mr. Hooleyasked the Secretary of of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs (1) what reports have been submitted by the United Kingdom Government to the United Nations Special Committee on Peace-keeping Operations arising from the experience of British troops in such operations;
(2) what proposals have been made by the United Kingdom to the United Nations Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations; and what progress is being made by this committee with the drawing up of agreed guidelines.

§ Mr. Luard:The United Kingdom has played an active role in the working of the Special Committee on Peace-keeping Operations. The United Kingdom submitted a detailed memorandum in 1973 and a restatement of principles last year. A copy of the latter has been placed in the Library of the House. No reports have been submitted specifically on the experience of British troops in peace keeping. Alternative texts for guidelines have been formulated, but no text has yet been agreed.
