§ Mr. BennAs indicated in the memorandum on enlargement submitted on 7th March 1978 by my right hon. Friend the Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office to the Select Committee on European Legislation, enlargement of the Communities is not expected to have significant implications for the United Kingdom's energy policy. My Department does, however, keep in close touch with the accession negotiations and the prospect of enlargement is naturally considered, along with other factors, in formulating energy policy.
