§ Mr. Staintonasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is satisfied that he is fully aware of the wide economic and environmental importance of the HMS "Ganges" site; what steps he intends to take following the abortive sales efforts of the Property Services Agency; and if he will visit the site personally in order to facilitate a speedy and sensible solution.
§ Mr. MarksThe Property Services Agency is fully aware of the economic and environmental importance of the HMS "Ganges" sites. A sale depends to some extent on the future planning use determined by the Babergh district council and discussions are being re-opened to this end.
My right hon. Friend does not propose to visit the site.
