§ Mr. Cryerasked the Secretary of State for Employment who is responsible for enforcing the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 at tyre fitting premises; and what action the Health and Safety Commission is taking following the decision of the industrial tribunal in Birmingham on 15 September 1978 in the case brought by Warwick District Council against Central Tyre Co. Ltd.
§ Mr. John GrantThe Health and Safety (Enforcing Authority) Regulations 1977 make local authorities responsible for the enforcement of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 in shop premises where tyre fitting is the main activity. The chairman of the Health and Safety Commission informs me that no action by the Commission following the tribunal decision is being taken.
