§ Mr. Stanleyasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the Government's expenditure plans 1979–80 to 1982–83, Cmnd. 7439, are consistent with the reduction of the annual rate of inflation to 5 per cent. or less by February 1982.
§ Mr. Joel BarnettAs I said on the occasion of publication of the White Paper on 17 January, the plans in Cmnd. 7439 were drawn up on the basis that inflation is kept under control. The agreement reached between the Government and the TUC will contribute to this.
