HC Deb 13 February 1979 vol 962 c494W
Mr. Nicholas Winterton

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what recent discussions he has had within the EEC about Korea's determination to treble the production of its textile industry and the repercussions this will have on the textile industries within the EEC.

Mr. Meacher

None; the capacity of the South Korean textile industry is not a matter for the EEC. South Korean exports of textile and clothing products to the European Community up to the end of 1982 are governed by the EEC/ South Korea bilateral agreement under the multi-fibre arrangement.
