§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will publish a table showing the percentage of British expenditure which is spent in Wales on (a) those services which will be devolved to the proposed Assembly, and (b) those services which will not be devolved to the proposed Assembly, for the latest year for which figures are available.
§ Mr. Robert SheldonThe latest year for which firm figures are available is 1976–77. The table below compares devolved and non-devolved public expenditure with identifiable public expenditure, details of which were given to my hon. Friend the Member for Gravesend (Mr. Ovenden) on 17 January 1979.—[Vol. 960, c. 781–94.] The explanations of identifiable public expenditure given with that reply also apply to the table below. It should be noted that the "Other environmental services" figures for Wales include current expenditure figures which are approximations derived from combined England and Wales totals.
