§ Mr. Scottasked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) why members of the public are being denied papers relating to the local public inquiry held in 1972 on the West Cross route.
(2) on what authority members of his Department are now refusing to provide interested members of the public with copies of the inspector's report and related documents for the 1972 local public inquiry on the West Cross route.
§ Mr. Guy BarnettThe difficulties are practical ones, but a member of the public who can show a bona fide interest in a particular local public inquiry can make an appointment to come to the Department and read the inspector's report and any documents appended to it. I hope this will meet the needs of the case.
