HC Deb 05 February 1979 vol 962 c29W
30. Mr. Moonman

asked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will make a statement on the position of Seel House Printing Co.; what help he proposes to offer it; and if he will encourage the creation of a worker co-operative with the help of the trades unions.

Mr. Les Huckfield

As my hon. Friend knows, my right hon. Friend has decided not to assist the proposed takeover of the central Liverpool division of the Seel House Group. I understand that this has now closed down and we are considering what action we should take in respect of earlier assistance to the group. I would be prepared to consider any application for assistance from a workers cooperative to preserve jobs at Seel House under the usual Industry Act criteria.
