Mr. Ron Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many licences have been granted in Carlisle since the sale of the State management scheme; what is the yearly average; and if he will make a statement.

Between 1 July 1974 and 30 June 1977, 40 new licences for the sale of intoxicating liquor were granted in Carlisle, representing an annual average of 13.
