HC Deb 05 February 1979 vol 962 c68W
Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many representations concerning glue sniffing have been made to him or to the Scottish Office during the past 10 years; and if there is any evidence that the practice of glue sniffing has increased during recent years.

Mr. Harry Ewing

In the past year 14 hon. Members and four other persons or bodies have made representations and in the preceding four years representations were received from four hon. Members. We have no record of representations in the preceding five years. There are no precise statistics on the incidence of solvent sniffing which occurs sporadically and in limited areas.
