asked the Lord Advocate how many cases involving glue sniffing have come to the notice of the Crown Office and the Procurator Fiscal Service during the last 10 years; and if there is any evidence that the practice of glue sniffing has increased during recent years.

Exact figures are not available. However, at least 40 cases have been reported during the last 10 years of which four involved the death of the person concerned. There has been an increase in recent years in the number of cases reported to the police.
