Mr. Jim Callaghanasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what educational facilities are provided for mentally handicapped persons in adult training centres in the Greater Manchester metropolitan districts.
§ Mr. MoyleAlthough much of the work of adult training centres could be regarded as educational in the broadest sense, I assume that my hon. Friend is referring to services provided by local education authorities. Their teachers take classes in the adult training centres in Salford and the possibility of local education authority involvement is under discussion in four other districts. In six districts some trainees attend adult or further education classes run by the local education authorities.
