§ Dr. GilbertIn November 1977 about 1,100 British subjects were engaged in defence contract work in Iran. About 300 are still in Iran. The British Embassy has advised non-essential United Kingdom personnel and all dependants to leave the country. The Embassy is taking all practicable steps to ensure the safety of those remaining.
