§ Mr. Higginsasked the Minister for the Civil Service what is the present value of a Civil Service index-linked pension to individuals now entering the Civil Service in each of the main Civil Service grades.
§ Mr. ChannonIn his report on the 1979 review of the adjustment in pay research for differences in superannuation benefits, the Government Actuary estimated the average value of the benefits of the principal Civil Service pension scheme to a non-industrial civil servant to be 17.3 per cent. of salary. A copy of the Government Actuary's report is in the Library. I regret that the information necessary to prepare estimates of the average value of the benefits by grade at entry is not available.
