§ Mr. RaisonNo. It has been the normal practice under successive Governments for those who have entered this country illegally to be removed, in the absence of compelling circumstances to the contrary. Neither the length of detention in this case, which was due to repeated representations and to an application for a judicial review, nor any other aspect of it justifies exceptionally allowing Gias Uddin to remain here permanently. He may appeal from abroad to an independent adjudicator against the decision to remove him as an illegal entrant.
