Perhaps the most appropriate way to handle this would be for the Chairman of the Post Office to provide my right hon. Friend with a report on the operation of the experiment, which would be made available to Parliament.—[Official Report, 27 June 1977; Vol. 934, c. 77.]I concur with that approach. The chairman wrote to me on 15 November 1979 enclosing copies of the minutes recording the board's discussions on 4 September and 6 November. These recorded that there was no consensus of view about the future of the experiment. As I promised the House, I have placed copies of those documents, as finally agreed, in the Library of the House. I have also placed in the Library, with the consent of the Post Office and the Council of Post Office Unions, a copy of the Warwick University report which was commissioned by those parties.
