§ Mr. Wheelerasked the Secretary of State for the home Department if, further to his answer to the hon. Member for Paddington, 26 November 1979, in respect of the 169 demonstrations held on streets within the Metropolitan Police district during 1979 where more than 100 police officers were required, how many arrests on charges were made, and inquiries sustained; and what were the total costs to the public arising from the duties imposed upon the police.
