§ Mr. Adleyasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has received about the proposed closure of Barton on Sea maternity hospital, due to centralisation of maternity services in Southampton.
§ Dr. VaughanI have received representations from my hon. Friend on behalf of a number of his constituents and I understand that representations have been made to the Hampshire area health authority (teaching). I refer my hon. Friend to my letter to him of 9 August and would add that the proposed closure of Barton on Sea maternity hospital is still under consideration at area level and no decisions have been taken.
