§ Sir George YoungThe Royal Commission on civil liability and compensation for personal injury which reported in March 1978 studied no-fault compensation schemes for medical injury that operate in New Zealand and Sweden and 267W concluded that such a scheme should not be introduced here at present. The Royal Commission recommended that progress of these particular schemes should be studied and assessed so that future experience can be drawn upon, and the Department is keeping this recommendation in view.
