§ Mr. Alexander FletcherThe first advanced gas cooled reactor—AGR—unit at Hunterston B entered service in 1976 and currently has an output rating of 500MW. A second similar unit started up in 1977 but has been under repair since the sea water ingress in October of that year. The first AGR unit at46W Torness, with a nominal output rating of 630MW, is planned to enter service in 1986–87, with a second similar unit following a year later.
