§ Mr. Fauldsasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1) whether he will reconsider his intention to put up for sale the village of Laxton with its medieval open field system of agriculture still in operation;
(2) what restrictive covenants he intends to place on the sale of the village of Laxton with its medieval open field system of agriculture still in operation, in order to prevent damage to its unique historical record;
(3) if he will enter into negotiations with interested parties with regard to the intended sale of the village of Laxton, with a view to its being purchased by the National Trust or intended National Heritage Fund in order to ensure the continuance of the medieval open field system.
§ Mr. Cormackasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will make the retention of the unique medieval field pattern and strip farming system a condition of sale when the Laxton estate is sold; and, if not, if he will give his reasons.
