Since the current balance of payments on non-oil account cannot meaningfully be expressed in index number form, figures in £ million have been included in the table. For import penetration, the percentage which imports of manufactured goods represent in total home demand for these goods over the 12 month periods ending in December 1974 and September 1978 are given.
