Mr. Teddy Taylor

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list in the Official Report those car manufacturers in the United Kingdom which have settled the pay claims of their employees within the Government's pay guidelines.

Mr. Joel Barnett,

pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 23rd November 1978], gave the following reply:

The settlement reached by the Ford Motor Company appears, on the evidence available, to be a breach of pay policy. The Government are in touch with the company.
