Friend has no independent means of verifying the shocking facts related to him and so is not in a position to take a stand vis-à-vis the Soviet Government on this particular case.
The Soviet Government have been left in no doubt about the deep concern felt in this country about the implementation of the provisions of the final act of Helsinki as regards religious freedoms.
